1)impressions

This is a good swing because so dynamic. I like that.
 In "suburi", swinging dynamically as these swings is important for your case. Because it will improve muscle flexibility and strength. 
And it is just the aim of swinging in large numbers.

It goes without saying that this dynamic impression comes from the "twist" on your batting stance. In a word, that twist brings right leg's hip-joint-open and right arm's flying elbow. In more detail, hip-joint-open means having the power of hip joint's inward rotation and hip-joint-extension and flying elbow means stretching the diagonal line.

2)two energy sources

The automatic-step-mechanics have two energy sources : one is "twist" and the other is "squat-down".


For example, Yoliesky Gourriel and Curtis Granderson use the twist mainly as the energy source. On the other hand, Jeff Bagwell and Jose Canseco use the squat-down mainly as the energy source.

Now, you have gotten the energy source of "twist" into your hitting mechanics already. So, as the next step, you should get the energy source of squat down. 

Then let me introduce you two training ways for getting the energy source of squat down.

a) batting tee practice with squat down batting stance

1) Stretch the iliopsoas muscle or do the whip-step before this swing.

2) Use a bat shortly like above photo.
3) Use the stamping motion with both heels when you squat down.

b) squat down training and SUBURI with usual batting stance

This drill means repeating the squat down training and  SUBURI (with usual batting stance) alternately. And each training should be performed in few times (3 or 4). In regard to the squat down training, iliopsoas muscle should be stretched before the squat down.

1)Keep your chin down.
2)Stick forward your pelvis when you stand up.
3)  Stretch your iliopsoas muscle before this training.

By the way, let me explain the reason of using the usual batting stance in this drill. As a result of using the lower body muscles in the squat training, these muscles will go into active state. So even in the usual batting stance, hamstrings and iliopsoas will act enough. However, in that SUBURI, you might want to take the squat down a little bit more than your usual batting stance that is used in the game.

Incidentally, the energy source of squat down is connected directly with lower body's unconscious muscle contraction at the moment of start.

And that lower body's muscle contraction is very important for producing big power by using the automatic step hitting mechanics. Because of being able to use that lower body's muscle contraction, the automatic step mechanics can produce the big power without any counter motion like back-swing or backward-weight-shift.

That's the reason of importance of the energy source of squat down. And that's the reason of why Moises Alou could hit 39 home runs with this hitting mechanics like no-motion punch.


3)scapulas' position 

At present, your back makes a flat line compared with Hayashi's it.

This difference comes from the scapulas' position. Your scapulas are not abducted enough. So, your thoracic spine can't make backward arch enough. And as a result, your pelvis can't tilt forward enough. This is a big point of improvement for you.

Making a space in front of chest and making a twist like this illustration are tips of making this batting stance (having good thoracic spine kyphosis).

And there is one more tips for making this batting stance. I expressed it in following illustration. In a word, stretching the iliopsoas muscle before making the batting stance and making a space in front of the chest are the tips for getting that batting stance.

※)caution

When making the space in front of your chest, you should not put a bat in front of your face. Your bat's barrel should run behind your head. I expressed that in following photos.



Incidentally, I called a batting stance with running a bat in front of face as the "front-barrel-type". And I called a batting stance with running a bat behind the head  as the "launch-position-type".

In short, front-barrel-type batting stance can not adapt to  automatic step hitting mechanics.
